On May 3, 2017, the Fremont Unified School District (FUSD) Measure E Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) had a sneak peek at one of the two new classroom buildings currently under construction at American High School when it held its monthly meeting at the campus. The $18 million project will provide a two-story building featuring four science labs and eight general classrooms, and six additional science labs in a second two-story building for a total of 36,723 additional square feet of classroom space.

“This is one of three new classroom addition projects in the American High School attendance area, said John Chwastyk, FUSD Director of Facilities and Construction. “The other two projects are at Brookvale and Patterson Elementary schools, with each getting a new eight-classroom building.

The buildings are constructed with energy efficient material and mechanical systems designed to provide optimal health and learning environments for students.  The project team is a collaborative effort between Â鶹´²´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Builders, SVA Architects, Roebbelen, and Project Frog.
